OMG....I am almost done with this challenge! It has only taken me 7 months to complete a 30 day challenge. But my computer is now fixed, and I am home for an entire week, so here comes day 29.
My 3 wishes
1. A cure for all diseases in the world.
2. Every child has the ability to read, and all children have access to education.
3. Lower Gas Prices.
can't forget world peace!

Day 28 (Maybe?)...Pet Peeves
Lord help us, I am still doing this 30 day challenge and it's almost September (I started in March)! But I will complete this challenge, so don't worry, it might be next year when it's done!
My Pet Peeves:
1. Thinking you are entitled to something just because you are important in your mind.
2. Super slow drivers and slow people at airports.
3. People who carry a chip on their shoulder.
4. The fact that I am still doing this challenge.
5. American Airlines.
I could go on and on, but I must stop myself. Hopefully, I can do the last 2 days of this, but I am sure it won't be anytime soon.
Peace-suzannah

Day 27...An original photo of the city I live in..
So I am doing this really quick as time is not on my side right now. Most of you know that I live in Springfield, MO (the home of Brad Pitt, Bass Pro and cashew chicken). If you are interested in it, google it.
3 more days... I can finish this.

Day 26 (Maybe?)...My dream wedding
This is weird because I was actually thinking about this is on my drive home tonight from work.
My dream wedding would be just me and my groom on the beach in Hawaii. I know, it sounds selfish to not have my parents there, or his family there, but for me simple is better. I want it at sunset, and be super casual. And when it's all said and done come back and party.
I must say that I did have the thought of a nice big church wedding in my hometown, but the thought lasted about 5 seconds in my head and then it was gone. Just the idea of planning a wedding sounds horrible to me. I want things done in an instant. No need for showers, or all that frill...just give me the wedding and let it be over.
It's June and I am still doing this...what was I thinking?....suzannah

Day 24-Something I've learned...
The biggest thing that I can think of would have the fact that someone who you never thought could let you down will do it at some point. Second thing I have learned "The course of true love never did run smooth"-William Shakespeare. Third, people can't pick their family so don't judge them by their family. Fourth, patience is something that I am starting to have in my life. Fifth, I will never be the girl that has it all together. My hair is often a mess, my makeup is often messy, my clothes are very rarely ironed.

Day 22...what's in my purse
My purse has become flyer friendly, so I have the basics in it! And I really need a new purse!!(I have been using the same one since October) My purse is home to my wallet, phone, gum (always Trident original), name badge for work, keys, cell phone and business cards. Any liquids (3 oz and less!) that are in there are in a quart size plastic bag. Sorry, no photo of my purse...I am too tired to take a photo of it!

Day 21...Favorite photo of myself of all time
This picture makes me laugh (like a hurt the belly kind of laugh) every single time I see it. I was probably around the age of 2 when this photo was taken on the porch of the house I grew up in. Bo (my father) is wearing super short shorts (yikes!); wearing his hat in a way that a 3 year old would wear it. And now the socks, white Nike ankle socks that he STILL HAS! Sunie (my mother) is sporting some short shorts just like Bo; and she has some great poofy hair going on! I am in a very stylish 80's jumper/romper with no shoes on and chewing on a toothbrush. This photo is the best photo of my family-Bo being his funny self, Sunie wondering "What the hell is going on here?", and me doing some crazy. My parents and I never take ourselves seriously...ever.

Day 20..a picture that always makes me smile.
The photo I have selected for this day is a photo of my mom holding her great nephew and my grandpa looking over them. There is something very comforting for me with this photo (Sorry, I am not in it, I was the magical photographer!)

Day 19...Something I miss
Ok, since I can't leave comments to the responses that you my ever-so kind readers leave me, I am going to leave one for Mallory right now. Mal-Cheese chicken from El Charro is a a grilled chicken breast that is covered in grilled onions and then covered with the delicious cheese sauce! And it's served with beans and rice!!! Soooooo yummmy!!!!
Now on to something I miss....gosh, maybe it's cheese chicken after I just wrote that :)
I think I miss the wonder of being a child. The look of a child when they discover something new is priceless to me. I think as adults it's very hard to become cynical and we become very hardened( is that even a word? Sounds good) to the world we live in. I guess I should just quote LeeAnn Wommack from "I Hope You Dance", when she says, " I hope you never lose your sense of wonder"
Keep your wondering spirit folks and it will all work out-suzannah

Day 18...Favorite Food!
My favorite food(s).....easy....Mexican food (mostly El Charro Mexican food-cheese chicken is the best!), and hot dogs. If you think about it, you get free appetizers when you have Mexican food...chips and salsa!I can eat my hot dogs anyway they are cooked-boiled, grilled, fried, microwaved. Any way they are cooked I will eat them. Here are some photos of my favorites:
Delish looking if you ask me...!
Heaven!!!
I went to the Pink's in Las Vegas, they serve the same 'dogs as the one pictured here in LA! When I was in LA everyone told us to go to Pink's, however we never made it! Oh well!

Day 17..Something I am looking forward to....
First of all, did I use the right form of "to"? I am always doubting myself on that word, and it worries me that all of my followers are proper English freaks! I think I got it right....let's hope!
Second, it's the 3rd day of April and I am only on day 17 of this challenge. Oh well, I guess with my traveling lifestyle I will get this challenge done someday!!!!!!
Ok, now back to the assignment. The one thing I am looking forward to is my trip to New Orleans next Sunday. I doubt I have much time to do tourist things, but maybe we can squueze out some time to do something fun!!!

Day 16...Dream Home
My dream home is a home that some of you might know, it's the original home of the series "Keeping Up with the Kardashians". It has nice porch on the front of the house, large kitchen (gotta have a big kitchen as that is everyone gathers), a nice back yard and a big master bedroom and bath! According to a website it has almost 4,000 square feet! Who knew it was that big of a house! Just in case you forgot what it looked like I will supply your memory with a photo!!!

Day 15...Favorite Bible Verse
This day of "The Challenge" is a bit hard for me. While I grew up going to church every single Sunday with my parents and I enjoyed going; but now that I am older, and on my own I do not go to church. I think the last time I went to church on my own was in December of 2006 when I had to go for a class assignment. Please, don't ask me to go to your church, the odds of me going after you ask will be slim. I will never ever be the girl who memorize Bible verses. I believe in God, but I am always fascinated by other religions. I love when I see the "Co-Exist" bumper sticker, that's what I believe. A little bit of everything. Since I am not a super religious person I am not going to complete the task for day 15. I don't want to put on this impression of a girl who knowledgeable about the Bible when I am not.

Day 14...a picture of yourself from last year...how have you changed.
So I am the far right in this photo. It was taken at my friend's Cathy's wedding last April. The other ladies I am standing with were the other bridesmaids. Since this photo was taken I now have shorter and blonder hair. And I am not as tan as I am in this photo...thank you spray tan! Other than that I am about the same :)

Day 13? (I think)....Something that means a lot to me
Something that means a lot to me. Gosh, this is hard. But I think I thought of one thing among a million things that mean a lot to me...my parents. I am so thankful that I was allowed to figure things out for myself now that I am an adult. They provided a loving environment (and still do!) and supported me in all my adventures in life (good or bad). I was provided with many options growing up and that is something that means a lot to me....the option to figure out my life and knowing they still love me no matter the outcome :)

Day 12...Something I don't leave the house without...
Like most Americans, I have a cell phone. And yes that is the one thing I don't leave my apartment without. I must say that I think the cell phone is the downfall of society. Everywhere I go I hear a private conversation in public. I can say that I if I have to have a conversation in public I try to find an area that is empty of people. I don't like to hear what other people are talking about; so why should they care to hear my conversation? I don't really like to talk on the phone, but I am texter deluxe! I know, it's just as rude as talking on the phone; but in my defense I don't think it's as annoying as talking in public. Sometimes I wish the bag phone would make a comeback. People had the luxury of a cell phone, but nobody thought about bringing that huge thing into public to have a conversation. Ok, this blog entry turned into a venting blog for me....

Day 11...Favorite TV shows
If any of you are counting, (I know one person is because she pointed it out to me...thanks Lindsey!) I skipped day 10. My 2nd day 9 should actually be day 10 :) So here I go with my favorite television shows:
1.
Love this show...it's my Wednesday night staple! Can't miss Modern Family.
2.
Jersey Shore. I know, it's stupid, but I am a sucker for mindless television. And you never know what is going to come out of Snooki's mouth.
3.
Love this smartass woman. She gives to crap to celebrities the way it should be....rude and crude.
I could go on and on about my favorite tv shows, but I will stop here. Plus, the William and Kate Dateline Special is on :) Can't wait for the wedding!

Day 9...Something I am afraid of.
I am a little behind here, but work comes before my blogging habit. I am continuing my 30 day Challenge, and I am up to Day #9.
I have many things I am terrified of and here they are:
1. Snakes
2. Dark public bathrooms
3. Blind People.
Sorry, I am not going to post any photos of things that I am afraid of. If I do that then I will not ever come back to my blog because there are pics up of things I don't like.

Day 9-A favorite picture of someone you could not imagine your life without
Before you look at my photo remember that I am a single gal, so I am not going to post a photo of my true love, or my family (even though I do love my family!). However, I could not imagine my life without Bruce Springsteen. He has been there for me many times (good and bad), so here is Bruce for you all to enjoy! Ok, maybe that will be just me who enjoys Bruce. *I am going to be out of town for the next week, so I will not be able to post. Not that all 9 of sit around and wait for me to blog. But I like to think you do :)

Day 8-A place you've traveled
I've been very lucky to be able to travel to great places. Mexico, Canada, China, England, France are the countries I've been to visit. And I have been to many states in the U.S. of A. Now, since my photos of the foreign countries are at home and not digital (Imagine it if you can!)! So I will post of pic of the latest place I have traveled....Los Angeles, California.
This photo is exactly what I saw every single day in downtown LA!

Day 5-A song to match your mood
This entry as anyone guess is going to be a Bruce Springsteen song. But now comes the hard part of picking what song describes my mood......but I am going to go with Save My Love.
Lyrics-
Now there's something coming through the air that softly reminds me
Tonight I'll park out on the hill and wait until they find me
Here slipping through the ether, a voice is coming through
So keep me in your heart tonight and I'll save my love for you
So turn up your radio and darling dial me in close
We're riding on the airwaves and we're traveling coast to coast
Over river and highway your voice comes clear and true
Though we're far apart tonight, I'll save my love for you
Hold me in your arms and our doubts won't break us
If we open up our hearts, love won't forsake us
Let's let the music take us and carry us home
There's a prayer coming through the air, a shot straight through my heart
Tearing open the evening sky, tearing me apart
I'll ride that signal down the line till I'm home again with you
So turn up your radio, I'll save my love for you
Turn up your radio and I'll save my love for you

Day 4-Your Parents
As anyone who is doing or reading this blog is probably thinking(that we all have the best parents) that what I am going to write, but I truly have the best parents in the world. I came along after they had been married for 12 years. They have provided me with a strong and loving environment since the beginning!
My dad (Bo) and mother (Sunie) were pretty much high school sweethearts. Bo grew up outside of WP on a farm, and Sunie lived in town. The lovebirds tied the knot 2 years after graduating from high school and they are still going strong after 38 years together! When I look at my parents I am in total shock and awe at how lucky I was to be raised in a home with 2 parents. Believe me, I count my blessings every day for that simple fact.
Bo is a salesman specializing in animal health. He has worked for the same company for over 35 years. He is gone for a couple days of the week. When not doing his day job one can probably find him farming. Farming takes up a lot of his time but he seems to enjoy it, so more power to you Bo! Bo is very active in the community; he is an elder at our church, a member of the local school board (and a member of some State of Missouri School Board thing), co-director (along with Sunie, and another couple from WP) of the NJCAA volleyball tourney that WP hosts in November.
Sunie is the manager of a classified paper in WP. She has been in the newspaper world for 25 years. Sunie can be credited with making sure everything runs smooth in our family. She is truly the backbone of the operation. Sunie helps Bo with farming duties, she is a member of the local Rotary chapter in WP, a deacon at church, and co-director of the volleyball tourney that I mentioned earlier.
My parents are my best friends. I can talk to either one of them about anything. And I mean anything! They both know that I am not a perfect child, but they still loved me just as much after I committed the mistake. (Trust me, I have made about a zillion mistakes and they still love me!) I always know where I stand with my parents, they both will tell you the truth whether or not you really want to hear it, and for that I am thankful as I can't stand fakeness. Just give it to me straight folks! I talk to Bo every single MOnday night, and Sunie and I e-mail each other a couple times a week and talk a couple times on the phone.
This blog entry was a fun one, as I got to reflect on my parents. So here's to Bo and Sunie on 38 years from a very appreciative daughter!(The photo was taken in October at their 39th high school reunion.)

Day 3-Your First Love
Ok, this is going to be a different form of love than what most of you are probably thinking, but my first love was and always will be music.
I know what you are thinking, "Seriously, she just said music?" Let me explain. For as long as I possibly remember I've always had music on my mind. I still remember my Fisher Price radio with a microphone (here's a picture to refresh your memory)
My radio was just a little different, but the general idea is the same. I would play the same tape over and over again. At the age of 4 I was convinced that I was the next member of The Judds. My radio had to be the best toy of my childhood, I have the best memories of my radio growing up :)I was never alone if I had a radio playing some tunes!
For me music has provided me both comfort and escape. Comfort on those lonely days and nights; and escape when I just wanted to be removed from my problem of at the time. I first started out as a country girl, and I still have respect for that area of music, but I am more of a rock 'n' roll girl at this point in life.
So in closing, I would like to think that there is probably a song for every person reading this....comment me and tell me what your song is :) Sorry, I am having problems leaving comments back, so I am not ignoring you.

Day 2 of "The Challenge"
So Day 2 wants me to name something I would like to do before I die.....hmmmm.....let me think.
Actually, I think this is an easy decision for me. I would love to go skydiving! I can't imagine the rush that one gets the second they jump out of the plane! I would do it in an instant just to feel the rush! I would probably scream the lyrics to "Free Fallin" the entire jump!

Now for 15 interesting facts about me....
1. I am an only child.

Don't Fence Me In.
Finally, I am back blogging. Nothing real thrilling has happened to me since my last blog. I guess the only thing that has changed is the fact that I have a new job. I feel like I finally have a grown-up job! I am working for Jack Henry which is a banking software company.
With this job I am traveling a bunch. I just home about 24 hours ago from my first trip. When I took the job I never imagined I would get the chance to go to Los Angeles, California. This was my first trip to LA and California for that matter! I had a great time!
This photo is of the crazy traffic we had to deal with every single morning just to get from our hotel in Burbank to downtown LA! 6 lanes of traffic are not for me!!
Just a view of the buildings in the downtown area
The really funky looking building is the Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles.
I realized that I am a true Mid-Western girl, and I always will be. As the old Cole Porter song says:
"Oh, give me land, lots of land under starry skies above,
Don't fence me in.
Let me ride through the wide open country that I love,
Don't fence me in.
Let me be by myself in the evenin' breeze,
listen to the murmur of the cottonwood trees,
Send me off forever but I ask you please,
Don't fence me in"
I am not dogging people that live there, I just like the open area that I have grown up with. LA is just a different place that is not like any place I have been to in the U.S. of A. Great American city, but I was proud to be home :)
