So life has been super busy here lately...guess that is better than nothing at all!
First thing....my friend Jennifer (who I work out with just about everyday) and I started a new cardio routine. We walk for 5 minutes and run for 1. We do this for a total of 30 minutes. It doesn't sound like much, but boy is it a workout! I love the high I get from running (even if it is only just 5 minutes total), I can see why people are always running! It's a great way to burn calories and it's just plain fun! Who cares if people are looking at you because you might be breathing just a bit harder than they are or sweating more than the entire gym combined? I just keep telling myself, I am doing this for me and not for them!
Now what I am about to say probably doesn't make much sense seeing how I just talked about working out....
But I made the best banana bread recipe tonight! Banana bread is something we all have a recipe that has been used in our family for the last 50 years, but this recipe is amazing! My friend on facebook asked for a good recipe and another friend posted her family recipe. Needless to say, I will be using her family recipe and not mine anymore. If anyone would like it here it is...(for a better tasting bread, make sure bananas have ripened at least 10 days. Trust me it's worth the wait)
1.5 cups of mashed up bananas (about 4)
3/4 cup margarine or butter
1.5 cups sugar
2 beaten eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup buttermilk (or milk)
3/4 cups nuts (optional)
Bake in a loaf pan at 350 degrees until golden brown..about 45-50 minutes.
O.k. nuggets, I am out.

I saw Stephanie's recipe too...may have to make it the next time I am in the mood or have really ripe bananas. I like your work out routine. I've been thinking of taking up running...never have been a runner, but there's something to that high that makes so many people crave it.
ReplyDeleteMal-you will not be disappointed in the recipe at all. I got just a little anxious during the ripening process. Judging from my awesome round body one can tell I have never been a runner, but I love it. I will probably be in the Boston Marathon next year...HA!
