I was tagged by Mallory!

So, my friend Mallory tagged me and I thought for all of my faithful followers you might enjoy this!

{1}: If you could be in any tv show when you were a kid what would it be?

I just love the Cosby's! So smart, and my father used to wear Bill Cosby sweaters!

{2}: What has been your favorite Christmas gift as a child?
I can't answer this question at all....way too many options!

{3}: What actress would you want to play you if your life was a movie?
Drew Barrymore. I see alot of similiarities between myself and Drew.

{4}: What decade fad do you wish would come back?
I think fashion right now is a mix of old and new. Just keep your clothing items gals, it will be back in style in no time flat!

{5}: What song describes your life?
Easy, it's my favorite song of all-time. Born To Run by Bruce Springsteen.
It's a love letter set to rock and roll music! BRUUUUUCE!

{6}: What was your favorite subject in school?
Easy, history. I didn't like my teacher in 11th grade, but I love HISTORY to this day! I always got the A grade in History!

{7}: If you could have a dream job for a day what would it be?
A writer on Chelsea Lately. Seriously, she is rude and crude just like me. We would either hit it off great or not at all....

{8}: If you could be any animal, what would you be and why?
I would be my cat in WP. This cat has it made, she sleeps all day. Someone feeds her daily, and cleans her crap up. Cats give the biggest F*you to people they don't like...love it!

Good night everyone! Peace...suzannah

My Sunday Morning Breakfast

Hellloooooooooooo friends. I know it's been a while, and I know that all of you have been patiently waiting for my next post! HA!

This beautiful Sunday morning I found myself standing in my ever-so small kitchen making a very unhealthy breakfast of bacon, scrambled eggs, biscuits and of course GRAVY! Now, my luck with gravy is not the best, but today the gravy gods were on my side! Thank you gravy gods!!!!! Today it was not wallpaper paste nor warm milk. As if you can't tell I have some trouble with this southern dish.

After patting myself on the back I wondered why do I hold gravy on a food pedestal? I can't help but think it's for the simple reason that I ate biscuits and gravy every single Saturday morning growing up. From around the age of 3 to about 7 I would go out to the farm with my father to visit the grandparents and we always had gravy. ALWAYS. I would always sit in between my dad and my Grandpa Pace and my grandpa would always help me tear my biscuits into bite size pieces. And you know what, I found myself doing that this morning...ripping my biscuits up just like my hero used to do 20 some years ago.

It was right then and there as I tearing that it hit me....I like biscuits and gravy so much because it's a memory of Grandpa. I was really, really close to my grandpa when I was younger but as I got older I found myself going to the farm less and less on Saturday mornings. And it was then and there that I started to cry. Why was I crying over a plate that was about to be covered in gravy? It just hit me that I have not accepted the fact that my Grandpa Pace is dead. December 10 it will be 4 years since he passed away. How I wish I had just one more breakfast with him tearing my biscuits for me. I still think I am going to see him driving down the road when I go to the farm, but I still haven't seen him. I know I will meet with him again someday, but right now I want him here! How selfish of me to think that, I want him back for my own reasons.

I know we all say or hear to tell loved ones how we really love them, but do it! You never know when the last time will be the last. It never hurts to tell someone how you feel. Do it before it's too late. And Go Colts! Ohhh, the horror, I a Missouri girl through and through, but I will always be a Manning fan! Go Peyton...knock the Chiefs off their 3-0 record!

Friday Night Fun!

So I am stealing a blog idea from Mallory....something a little different for my 7 readers to enjoy!

I ALWAYS
Wash my face at night with super SUPER hot water and then put on Lancome AquaFusion.

Eat a small container of yogurt a day for breakfast.

Let the dishes stay in the dishwasher for about 3 days once they are clean.

Try to find the humor in any situation.

Listen to at least one Bruce Springsteen song a day.

I SOMETIMES
Vote Republican! Yikes!

Go out and eat by myself.

Smoke a cigarette.

Think I am Jewish.

Get my bank account so low in funds just to see if I can survive until payday with 1.00 in my account!

I NEVER
Remember to take out the trash until it completely stinks my apartment up!

Cheer for the Missouri Tigers. I am a Missouri State Bear Fan until I die!

Get out of bed right when the alarm goes off.

Go at least 2 days without talking to my parents.

Go out in public without mascara on. It's my standby.

Letting Go.

This past month has been so strange for me. Part of me feels like I am graduating college all over again! Everyone is going their different ways.

We have all been there when friends start moving away. You never want to have them move, but it's something that happens. First friend to move-Jennifer. I have been friends with Jennifer for about 4 years now. She and I would go and work out together and chat non-stop. Best workout buddy in the history of workout buds! She and her husband (and sweet baby girl) are moving to Florida as her husband has taken a job in sunny F-L-A. Second friend to move-Kara. Kara and I were in many poli-sci classes together at MSU and we went out to eat out at least once a week in Springfield. She got a better job in STL and she is going to be closer to home.

While I will miss these girls like a fat kid misses chocolate cake I know that I am only a plane ride away from Jennifer and family, and just a 3.5 drive away from Kara. I have been very blessed in life so I am in no way feeling sorry for myself in this situation.

The next thing I have had to let go of is a boy who happens to be my best friend. I have been trying to decide when I should tell him that I liked him more than a friend but I could never get up enough courage to do so until Tuesday morning while I was at work. He and I were texting back and forth about when we he was planning to leave to go back work in the state where he just moved home from in May/June. So I decided just to tell him how I felt. So I sent the text that I will never know if he got because he has never responded back. I know it's super tacky to tell someone how you feel about them in a text, but that is the only way he communicates since he has been home. The moment I sent it I felt a huge weight lifted off of my shoulders. It was one of the most liberating moments in my 26 years of life! I don't care if he likes me back or not, good if he does, good if he doesn't...but I now feel like I can move on with my life instead of putting it on hold for some form of attention from him.

I also let go of my hair! I have been growing my hair out for 5 years and it was all the way down my back when I cut it off last Friday night. 8 inches gone! I have super thick hair, so I feel like a brand new person with the new 'do!

Ok, enough from me. But I just wanted to share what has been going on in my boring neck of the woods.

Until next time-Suzannah

It's time for 5 Question Friday!

1. Did you have a favorite blanket or toy as a kid? If so, do you still have it?
Oh yes! Everyone who knows me knows about NightNight! I have slept with this blanket for as long as I can possibly remember. Mrs. Pauline Roper made it for me when I was a baby. It has seen better days, but I just love it. While staying at my MeMe and Papa's one weekend my mother forgot to pack it and I would not go to bed unless I had my PapaBear (my CareBear) and my NightNight, so Papa loaded me in the car and we went to my house to get them! I know, I am a 26 year old girl who still sleeps with her blanket, but I will never let NightNight go.

2. Do you dream in color?
Oh yes! It's totally High Definition dreaming for me!

3. How tall are you? Do you wish you were shorter or taller?
I love how tall I am! I am 5 feet and 10 inches. My height is something I got from the Pace side of the family, and trust me, we are all pretty tall. It's a family trait that I treasure everyday. I know that sounds corny, but when someone says, "Oh you're a Pace" I just smile. We are all pretty tall so there is always a fight to see who goes on the back row in a family photo because most of all us are all tall!

4. If you could have anyone's (celeb or other) voice as the guide on your GPS, who would it be?
I would say Chris Noth aka Mr. Big. I love his voice, always steady and calm.

5. Do you return your shopping cart to the corral or leave it wherever in the parking lot? Depends on my mood for the day....The way I see it, it's job security for the cart people if one cart is not returned. Or a cart for the homeless to push their stuff around in.

Ok, everyone I am out. I am watching Forest Gump, and I have already done some crying! This movie always gets to me. Have a great weekend!

Quick Post!

So life has been super busy here lately...guess that is better than nothing at all!

First thing....my friend Jennifer (who I work out with just about everyday) and I started a new cardio routine. We walk for 5 minutes and run for 1. We do this for a total of 30 minutes. It doesn't sound like much, but boy is it a workout! I love the high I get from running (even if it is only just 5 minutes total), I can see why people are always running! It's a great way to burn calories and it's just plain fun! Who cares if people are looking at you because you might be breathing just a bit harder than they are or sweating more than the entire gym combined? I just keep telling myself, I am doing this for me and not for them!

Now what I am about to say probably doesn't make much sense seeing how I just talked about working out....
But I made the best banana bread recipe tonight! Banana bread is something we all have a recipe that has been used in our family for the last 50 years, but this recipe is amazing! My friend on facebook asked for a good recipe and another friend posted her family recipe. Needless to say, I will be using her family recipe and not mine anymore. If anyone would like it here it is...(for a better tasting bread, make sure bananas have ripened at least 10 days. Trust me it's worth the wait)

1.5 cups of mashed up bananas (about 4)
3/4 cup margarine or butter
1.5 cups sugar
2 beaten eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup buttermilk (or milk)
3/4 cups nuts (optional)

Bake in a loaf pan at 350 degrees until golden brown..about 45-50 minutes.

O.k. nuggets, I am out.

1. What is one food you could eat everyday
Easy...buttered toast.

Not at all. I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up :)

3. What is something that you wish you would have done when you were younger and you didn't?
Take French in high school and college. Spanish didn't work so well for me.

4. What color are your kitchen walls?
Cream with oak cabinets.

5. Do you remember what your very first favorite song was?
That song by The Judd's...Tell Me About the Good Ol' Days....I don't even know if that is the name of it.

So that's it for me...Happy Friday everyone!

My Random Thought...

Which is worse-

1. To love someone so much and not have them love you back
Or
2. To be apart(long distance) from the one you love the most?

For me, I think the first question is the worst situation. At least with the second question you know they love you no matter how far away the 2 of you might be at the moment. Either way, they both are pretty sucky. Let me know what you think.

Long Time No Posting!

So sorry everyone about my lack of posting! Life has been super busy the last 2 weeks.

Nothing too mind-blowing has happened to me lately. I went home for the last 2 weekends. The first weekend I just wanted to go home to my Momma! No matter how old a girl gets she will always need her Mom! My mom is probably my best friend. I can tell her anything and everything and she will be there for me no matter what I tell her! While in town she and I escaped to Mt. Home, Ark and we stumbled upon the neatest home interior shop-Bella Home. It's located on College Street just down the road from Walgreens. Cute cottage house! I bought a vintage black and white picture for my bathroom, a Jessica Simpson purse and a pair of Yellow Box heels. If you are ever in Mt. Home I suggest you stop at Bella Home!

For the 2nd weekend in WP I went to the lake with the parents a big group of our friends from Herrmann, MO. Oh my gosh, did we have a great time! We have been meeting at the lake for about the past 20 years and we always have a great time!

Ok, enough from me, I will post more over the weekend! I felt bad for not posting! Much love nuggets!

Observations

So tonight I went and worked out at Ozark Fitness with my friend Jennifer. I love her to pieces, she is truly a great friend. (And not to mention she has the cutest little girl!) Anyway, I have been a battling my weight for most of my life so it feels great to go and have some to talk with while sweatin' it out on the treadmill and everything else. While working out Jennifer and I were chatting about how she hates her hair and I hate the red spots I have all over my legs. With that in mind I had the thought of, "Are women ever happy with themselves?" We are always comparing ourselves to others and we are never happy with what we have. (Don't get me wrong, I like the way I feel after I have done something like working out) I think we live in a society that picks apart every little part about someone/ourselves and we never feel happy with what we have. Let's all be thankful about what we have!

I am going to list 3 things that I love about myself and keep those things in my head instead of the negative thoughts. So here goes....

1. I love my freckle on my tummy and the one on the side of my check! My parents used to always think that they were both ticks when I was a child and try to pick at them in the summer. ( I guess they never noticed them in the other 3 seasons!)

2.For some odd reason I really like my shoudlers. I really don't have a reason as to why I like them, I just really like how they look in a swimsuit or when I am working out.

3.For my last one I am going to go with my toes.I know, it's gross. But feet have never bothered me. I have Fred Flintstone toes to the max, but I think I will keep them. My cousin Ryan and I have the same toes-chubby first toe (if we were to stand next to each other barefoot you could see this). Must be a Pace thing.

Ok, I am going to get off of here and get in the shower. I want all of you to think of 3 things that you love about yourself and keep those positive thoughts in your head instead of the negaitve thoughts. Be good, and until next time....

5 Question Friday on Monday.

So as I mentioned in my previous post, I am VERY new to this whole blogging thing and it's going to take me a good minute to get used to everything! I am going to post the 5 questions that appear on fivecrookedhalos.blogspot.com every Friday. Here you go......all 2 of my readers...ENJOY!

1. If you could go back to college would you change your major? Or, if you were to go to college right now...what major would you choose?
I majored in Political Science and I must say that I would probably not keep that major! If I had to go back I would major in Business Administration/Communications/Human Resources.

2. What do you love most about your home?
Well, I live in a little apartment, but I love it. My favorite thing about it would have to be the patio area. I have some plants out there and a retro metal chair and table. It's my little piece of paradise!

3. What types of books do you like to read (if you like to read at all)?
I am a sucker for romance! And I do like to read biographies because I don't really have to think that much when reading them!

4. What is the grossest thing you've ever eaten?
I would have to say soup that had squid in it! I was in Mexico so I thought I would do as the locals do and eat it...GROSS!

5. If you HAD to be a character on a TV show, whom would you be?
Without a doubt, I would be Carrie Bradshaw. Always looking for love and never settling for second best. She knows who and what she wants even that person or thing is bad for her. Can't blame a girl for trying. And she has a great wardrobe!

I just got done working out at my apartment fitness center. It has a few treadmills, couple of bikes and a weight machine. I did the treadmill and then some weights. Nothing great, but I feel great now! I am now watching Kendra, I must admit I love this girl. Speaks what is on her mind everytime!

Enough from me, I have laundry calling my name...Peace

New to this blogging thing!

So after much debating with myself I have finally decided to start blogging. Be patient with me, as this is all a new world for me.
